Bangladesh Public Service Commission (bpsc.gov.bd) has invited application from candidates for the post Assistant Thana Education Officer (ATEO) under the ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

ATEO Job Circular at a glance:
Name of Post: Assistant Thana Education Officer under m/o Primary and Mass education.
Number of Post: 651 (Permanent post- 437, temporary- 214). 50% post will be reserved for departmental candidates. Blank posts of this 50% will be filled up by general candidates if departmental candidates are not available.
Salary Scale: BDT 8000/-450×7-11,150/-EB490x11-16,540
Minimum Education Qualification: Second class in Masters with second class in Honours from any recognized university.
Age as on 01 July 2012: Maximum 30 years. (45 years for departmental candidates, 18-32 years for handicapped)
Time frame for Online application (BPSC Form-5 fill up) and exam fee:
- Application starts from 10.00AM on 08 July, 2012. Candidates must pay fee within 72 hours of BPSC Form-5 fill up.
- All Application must be dropped within 6.00 PM on 27 July 2012 and fee must be paid within next 72 hours that means within 6.00PM on 30 July.

Who are regarded as departmental candidates?
In this case any teacher of any Government Primary school will be considered as departmental candidates.
Online BPSC Form-5 Fill up:
Candidates have to visit http://bpsc.teletalk.com.bd in order to fill up BPSC Form-5 and to pay exam fees. After opening this web address he/she has to select Non-cadre option and then radio buttons for Advertisement for ATEO Recruitment, Instructions for submitting application will be visible.
Declaration:
Candidates will have to declare in the BPSC Form 5 that all information area authentic and genuine. If a candidate pass in the preliminary examination he/she has to submit BPSC Form-3 with all educational documents mentioned in the BPSC Form-5.
Photo and Signature for BPSC Form-5:
Image should be 300*300 pixel, JPEG format, color and it should not exceed 100 KB.
Signature should be 300*80 pixel, JPEG format, not more than 100 KB.
Submission of Exam Fees:
After successful submission of BPSC Form-5 a candidate will receive a User ID and applicant's copy. This User ID will be used in paying exam fees.
First SMS:
BPSC<space>User ID and send to 16222.
Example: BPSC NCRPQBCR send to 16222.
Reply: Applicant's Name, Tk-500 will be charged as application fee. Your PIN is (8 digit number). To pay fee, type BPSC<space> Yes<space> PIN and send to 16222.
Second SMS:
BPSC<space>yes<space>PIN and send to 16222.
Reply: Congratulations! Applicant's Name, Payment completed successfully for Non-cadre examination. User ID is (XXXXXXXX) and Password (XXXXXXXX).
What can one do if password is lost:
If password lost please type BPSC<space>HELP<space>SSC Board<space> SSC Roll<space>SSC Year and send to 16222.

Go to Home page of bpsc.teletalk.com.bd and from admit card menu select User recovery, Password Recovery and Payment status.
Admit card for ATEO examinees:
Use User ID and password received from teletalk sms to download the admit card from bpsc.teletalk.com.bd.
Exam pattern for ATEO recruitment:
If number of applicants for the post ATEO exceeds 2000, a preliminary MCQ exam will be taken. Exam date and seat plan will be notified later by bpsc. Total marks for this exam will be 100. There will be 100 MCQ. A candidate will get 1 mark for each right answer and will be penalized 0.5 for each wrong answer.
Marks distribution for ATEO Written and Viva Exam:
Bangla- 50, English-50, Mathematics- 60, General Knowledge- 40 and Viva- 50. (Total- 250).
Pass marks for ATEO written and viva exam:
Pass mark for written is 45% and for viva 40%. If a candidate gets less that 25% marks in one subject in written it will be considered that he/she got no marks in that subject. But if he gets 45% marks all over the exam he will pass.
Exam Centers for ATEO Exam:
Preliminary and written exam will be held in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet centers. NO APPLICATION FOR CENTER CHANGE WILL BE ACCEPTED.
