Eligibility of a candidate:
A.Educational Qualifications:
- SSC or equivalent (Science) = Minimum GPA 3.5
- HSC or equivalent (Science) = Minimum GPA 3.5
- In HSC, minimum grade in Physics & Mathematics is to be 3.50 individually. In English, grade is to be minimum 3.00; however if it is less than 3.00, IELTS score 5.5 will be
accepted.
- A & O-Level : a. A-level certificate in Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics (Minimum Grade ‘C’ individually
b. O-level certificates in Five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and
English(Minimum Grade ‘C’ individually)
B. Other Qualifications
- Age limit: Maximum 21 years on 31 December 2012 (Year of application). The date of birth is recognized as per S.S.C or equivalent examination certificate. Affidavit will not be accepted. Any candidate found to be over even by one day shall be rejected and no appeal against it shall be entertained.
- Nationality: Candidates must be male or female nationals of Bangladesh by birth or domicile as per national legislation duly certified by competent authority.
Foreign (male & female) applicants may also apply through their respective Embassies - Marital Status: Unmarried.

How to apply marine online:
Enter into the wesite of either sonali bank(www.sonalibank.com.bd) or marine academy(www.macademy.gov.bd) and fill up the registration form and print e-token.
Submit the printed e-token with one copy passport sized photograph(clear photograph)with 1000tk and bank fee 60 tk to a nearby sonali bank with RMS+facility. Bank officer will issue an admit card. in any problem contact 031-2514151-6.(marine academy).

1.Marine Written Examination (In Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi & Khulna)
Subject: Physics, Mathematics, English and General Knowledge
Question Type: MCQ (No. of Question; 50X4 = 200)
Duration: 2 hours for 4 subjects in one session (morning)
Marks:
# Written * : 80 Marks in each subject ( 50X1.6 = 80)
Total; 80 x 4 = 320
# Viva-Voce * : 80 Marks
* [(40% pass marks in each subject) overall Pass mark is 50% that is 200 marks out of 400]
Certificate Marks : 100 (SSC: 50, HSC: 50)
Total Marks : 500 marks (written & viva)
2. Preliminary Physical Fitness Test: (Fit/ Unfit)
Events:
- Push up (10 times);
- Rope climb: 6 m
- Race: 400 m (Max. time allowed: 3 min)
- Standard swimming test 50 m and followed by floating 3 min.
3. Viva-voce: Interview (80 Marks)

4. Eye-sight Test: Without glass 6/6 for Nautical Branch & up to 6/18 for Engineering Branch

Result of Bangladesh Marine Academy 49th Batch Cadet 2012:
Final Selection will be based only on merit serial.
20 female cadets will be selected according to the merit serial of the female cadets. total cadet 275.
