Cadet Colleges are special educational institutions with a view to making students proficient enough for leading the country and also act as skilled Army Officers.

Basic Information:

There are 12 Cadet Colleges in Bangladesh; nine for boys and three for girls. The plan to establish cadet colleges was to train the country's youth and introduce in them high morale, sound mental capacity, width of vision, physical strength, power of leadership and the capacity to run the rapidly expanding government administrative machinery.

Cadet Colleges are different, isn't it?

The cadet colleges are completely different from all existing types of secondary and higher secondary educational establishments and these colleges soon have became famous for their performance in terms of the brilliant results of their students in public examinations. Such brilliance is recognized mainly to rigorous scrutiny in intakes and the superior quality of learning.

Cadet college is a place where a student (a cadet) gets all type of facilities to build up their body and mind. He has to get up early in the morning for physical exercise and training, drill. Then breakfast and rush for academic classes. Games in the afternoon, preparation classes in the evening and TV shows in the night.

Thursday is for cultural and co-curricular competitions followed by delicious dinner. (Still I can feel the smell of that Kabab!). There are various games and other competitions which ends with annual sports meet and all over championship of the houses.

Admission procedure:

Admission procedure is same in all cadet colleges and exams are taken at the same time.

Seats: Every year only 50 - 55 new cadets are selected from all over the country for each college.

Admission process usually starts toward the end of every year to accept new cadets for class 7 only. Written admission exam for all 12 cadet colleges are held in the same day through out the country. Those who pass the written exam, are called for oral / viva test and medical test. Based on the results of all three tests, from the candidates for each college, the top 50 -55 cadets are given admission to that cadet college.
